I'd say Archlinux for its simplicity, minimalism and bleeding edge repositories.

Mine is Arch . I choose the bleeding edge

. And minimalism. If I need stability I use FreeBSD (Not a Linux Distro, still sayin')

My prefered are Debian based but Linuxmint is my prefered with Mate that is based on Gnome 2(I like too cinnamon)
but sometimes I use too Manjaro based on Arch Linux..
I dont like RPM distros...but if I were to use I would use OpenSUSE even if yum (fedora package manager) is more robust than Yast

guys what about beginners?
what would you suggest?
pls don't say ubuntu i hate it, it more looks like OSX... I want a distro to look like linux~
I started off with debian, dont know if made the right choice or not. some say it'd be better to start w/ ubuntu, mint or magea, some say gentoo/debian to actually learn linux.
